General Information

Visitor Policies

The Souvay Memorial Library is OPEN to patrons who are not current affiliates of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary.  If you are making a trip to Kenrick specifically to use the library, however, you must make a prior appointment.

  • Contact us, or call 314-792-6131 to schedule a visit.
  • ALL visitors–including clergy, MOBIUS affiliates, and visiting scholars from non-MOBIUS institutions–should check in first with the seminary receptionist.
  • Members of the general public (i.e. patrons who are not employees of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, who are not clergy, or who are not affiliated with an academic institution) are welcome to visit and consult our collections, but they should describe their research needs in their request.
  • Typically, we schedule visits and research consultations for outside patrons on weekdays, no earlier than 9 am (i.e. an hour after we open), and we ask visitors to conclude their business for the day at least 15 minutes before the library office closes (5 pm for most of the academic year).
  • Make sure to check out our blog (“What’s New”), also on the website, for any announcements of closings or restricted hours.

Please remember that the Seminary is a residence, a home to our students and our community of resident priests. Should you visit Souvay, please respect the privacy of those who live here by NOT wandering into other areas of the building.

At this time, Souvay does not have a mask requirement. We ask that you postpone your visit if you are ill, experiencing any COVID symptoms, or if a member of your household currently has COVID.
